Collaborative editing of the README files

The readme files of the TYPO3 packages are collaboratively edited in the wiki, please help getting them up-to-date by editing the following Wiki pages:

This is the README document for both distributions (tar.gz and zip):

README.txt

The Release Notes differ from one version to the next:

ReleaseNotes (see list)

older versions (state is frozen):

RELEASE_NOTES.txt of TYPO3 3.8.1

tar.gz files are recommended for Unix systems. Therefore the contents of the file explain how to set the permissions correctly, etc.

tgz-INSTALL.txt

This file is primarly targetted to Windows users:

zip-INSTALL.txt

It would be great if both INSTALL.txt files could be merged into one single without loosing any of the important information!
