Reorganize

This is how I like to reorganize the Installation Basics manual. The purpose is:

  • Easier to know where you are (not som many links back and forth)
  • Easier to convert to SXW or PDF
  • Easier to get an overview or the subjects
  • Not so many pages to print

Todays structure

Before I start this reorganize the structure looks like this:

New proposed structure

And I want to change it to something like this:

  • Basic Installation Manual
General information on how to install Typo3 on different platforms. Should be sufficient for normal users.
  • Basic Installation Appendix
Miscellaneous information on additional, in-depth or specific installation cases, like how to set up "php.ini", in-depth config etc. Here we should also put troubleshooting information and specific information about certain Typo3 versions.
  • Windows Installation Appendix
Specific information about Windows (and IIS?) installations. (We should move the paragraph about "Symlinks on windows" to this page?)
  • Linux/Unix Installation Appendix
    Specific information about Linux installations.
  • Mac Installation Appendix
    Specific information about Mac installations.

And the Basic Installation Manual should be reorganised like this:

MM : There is nothing in this installation material about server file permissions?
