tinyRTE advantages:

tinyRTE do MS Word clean up much better out of the box. It possible to use it with real documents with tables, HTMLarea - no.
tinyRTE has resize
tinyRTE has no major bugs with image disappear
tinyRTE has more easy configuration
tinyRTE is integrated with skin_grey

tinyRTE disadvantages:

some bugs with external links
not so configurable
not so well integrated
no translation for many languages
doesn't work completely with Safari and Opera (http://tinymce.moxiecode.com/tinymce/docs/compatiblity_chart.html)
link creation from URL does not work in FireFox
