notice - Note

This project is finished. The colloection of words which you see below has been added to the list on the Translation Server. Thanks for your help in creating this list! If during your work on the Translation Server you think that important words are still missing, please write a mail to the newsgroup "typo3-translators" at lists.typo3.org. Thank you!

Aim of this project

While you are translating a text, Pootle helps you by showing you a special Terminology. This terminology contains translations for common terms, which are part of the original text. This feature is based on a "Terminology list", which holds terms commonly used.

You see the common Terminology for the text "Pagetree Overview" inside the red rectangle.

The "Terminology" list

The Terminology list, which our Pootle Server currently uses, was taken from the Gnome project. It already contains much of the often used vocabulary.

However, especially TYPO3 specific words are missing completely.

Here is a list of common terms!

  • Terms we need often when we translate TYPO3.
  • Terms (maybe TYPO3 specific) which would help us.

These terms will become part of our Terminology list. This will help us translate more easily and efficiently and will make our translations even more consistent.

Build a common Treasury of Words

The following terms should additionally become part of the "Terminology list" of the TYPO3 project:

Amongst other things this list already contains

  1. an extract of the sysext "lang"
  2. all terms from the German team's common vocabulary list at https://wiki.typo3.org/German-translation-common-vocabulary
  3. the contents of the locallang_common.xlf file

Warning don't use unordered list for other things than terminology term, this page is parsed automaticaly to import terms in Pootle
