Useful Tools

If you are translating form the web browser, you might find it useful to work in Firefox with Latvian dictionary installed as this will provide you with an instant spell checking facility. Once the dictionary extension has been installed, type 'about:config' in the address bar to access Firefox configuration, look for the configuration key 'layout.spellcheckDefault' and set its value to 2 - this will ensure that spell checking is enabled in all form fields rather than just ones spanning multiple lines. If you are working with multiple languages, you might find Dictionary Switcher extension useful as it allows you to easily switch between different dictionaries and 'remembers' which dictionary to use for which site.
